CURRENT NEWS

JULY 2009 - 7TH ST ALBANS GUIDES LEARN ABOUT THE POWER OF DREAMS

During the Summer term the 7th St Albans Guides took part in The Power of Dreams project to raise awareness of the charity 'Railway Children'. As part of the project the Guides made dream pillows. It was believed in medieval times that by putting selected herbs on your pillow you could influence your dreams and bring visions of the future. Inside their dream pillows the Guides placed messages of their dreams and hopes for the future.

JUNE 2009 - 1ST ST ALBANS RAINBOWS VISIT GROVE HOUSE

The 1st St Albans Rainbows joined with Grove House to add some summer colour to the Hospice gardens. As part of learning about local charities the Rainbows aged five and six grew their own sunflowers to plant at Grove House. Liz Hizli, Community Fundraiser from Grove House came along to a Rainbows meeting earlier in the term to talk about the work of the Hospice. Following this visit the girls wanted to do something to show their support for the Hospice and provide enjoyment for the patients.
